Philip Joseph

Philip Joseph can remember singing just as much as he can remember breathing.  After writing his first song at the age of eleven, the songwriting bug continued to pull at the heart of this soul singer through his childhood participation in various church choirs and ensembles.  However, it was during his involvement in an upstart R & B group out of the University of Delaware called ‘Rejuvenation’ that Philip really began to take singing and songwriting seriously.   After that group disbanded in 1995, Philip spent years delving into songs of different musical styles and genres.  This experience served him well when he joined his first band, Del’s Groove ( in May of 2008.  As one of the lead vocalists, Philip learned to sing any song given to him with soulful intensity whether it be rock, country, or R & B.  In addition, Philip honed his skills as a songwriter and recording artist by recording on two Christmas albums and releasing original material with Mar Day Productions.  As a solo artist, he has also opened up for such artists as Levert II, Al B Sure, and Miles Jaye.     He has also had the opportunity to work and perform with legendary R&B group Change.   In addition, he has recorded and worked with Aniya Jazz, and has been featured on three of their studio albums, Full Circle (2010), Colors of the Sun (2013), and Free Spirit (2017)  (   In June 2014, he had the unique privilege of performing with Aniya Jazz as they opened up for Brian Culberson at the 2014 Clifford Brown Jazz Festival in Wilmington, DE.  One female admirer once told him, “Listening to you sing makes me want to be in love.”  Simply put, Philip Joseph will make a lover out of anyone.  One song at a time.
